An idea, and an honest prototype of it.

Fly fishing guiding is a working trade. Most guides are self-employed, weather-exposed, and one bad shoulder from a career change. They are also, almost without exception, the most knowledgeable person within twenty miles of the water they work.

The tools built around them have not been kind. Booking platforms take a share of a day rate, keep taking it on clients the guide already had, and then market against that guide’s own name. Guides put up with it because the alternative is an answering machine.

That a guide should keep what they earn. That the money in a fishing trip sits in the trip rather than the guide’s day rate, so a company that understands this has no reason to squeeze anybody. And that a guiding season is short, so there ought to be more than one way to earn from what you know.

This site and a clickable prototype. That is genuinely it. No bookings, no payments, no guides signed, no company. The rivers and guides inside the prototype are sample data, invented so there is something real to click on.

We are showing it to friends, to a few people who might build it with us, and to guides willing to tell us where we are wrong.
